A branding foundational for Printed Hues, coastal watercolor artistry of Wilmington, North Carolina

Meet Laura, a local watercolor artist sitting on a wooden floor with her coastal artwork displayed in the background showcasing oysters, shell, and marine plant life in hues of blue

Meeting Laura:  My jaw dropped when she said she’s in nearly 50 boutiques in coastal North Carolina. I had seen these watercolor maps everywhere. One day Laura followed me on Instagram. ME? Little ole me?

We had that weird social media friendship where we just kept liking one another’s posts, but not really knowing each other personally beyond that.

I take full responsibility for not messaging her first. I should have! When you admire something for so long, you almost can’t resist the urge to SAY something, but she beat me to it.

One day she pops up in my inbox ready to take the plunge into a whole new photographic presence for her beautiful inventory of watercolor coastal maps, oyster paintings and prints, and other coastal-themed goods.

Laura Lobdell is wholesome, wise, welcoming, and totally big-sis material. I think it was all these things PLUS our preference for blue-green tones that brought us together.

Her art makes the perfect backdrop for the rest of your home decor. Her oyster shells make perfect gifts. Her tea towels are absolutely iconic.

Explore her branding session below. These images will be used in social media and in her website content. We will be shooting her inventory in a separate session to come spring/summer 2024!

LAURA’S TEAM & MERCHANDISING

Meet the team behind Printed Hues, watercolor artistry in Wilmington, North Carolina

I asked Laura about her goals for her business, her design style, and what she’d be using the photography for. We had a great discussion at a local coffee shop about these topics in depth.

THEN as part of her foundational package, she had a marketing consultation with web designer and marketing expert, Sarah. Sarah is founder of Courtesy of Creative based in coastal North Carolina  &&&  a great friend of mine.

The preparation involved in bringing this session to life is what made it seamless, comprehensive, and oh-so-beautiful. 5 hours for the photography date, and likely up to 6 months worth of content. To view more of this content, check out the branding foundational gallery here.
