The Anti-Tech Stack

Small Business

Check out Alexi’s cheat sheet for our team’s preferred tech-tools + discount codes!

All things tools for the small biz owner…

If you’ve been following along, you know my stance on the scramble. For years, I had 12 tabs open for my business – HoneyBook for invoicing, Flodesk for emails, Google Docs for client shot lists, and a handful of other logins just to keep the lights on.

As per the usual flow of events, the more popular these tools got, the more expensive they got.

We got a little sick of the monster tech stack and decided to simplify and consolidate.

Alexi is a Foundry partner, and she is the software and website wizard. Alexi keeps Brittany’s systems running smoothly, and if there’s a better tool to get the job done? Alexi puts it on the table. She made a master list of our favorite tools with their discount codes! Want her help setting it up? That’s a 10/10 hook up from Foundry.  👍🏼

WHY CONSOLIDATE?

Outside of financial considerations, I LOVE that consolidation means that all the branches of my business can communicate with each other. In a world of automation, having my emails communicate with my contracts and project dates means that my clients can get real time updates on their next steps without me having to manually step in every time.

1. Our #1 Pick: Ivorey

We recently converted everything to Ivorey! It has consolidated nearly everything for us. Ivorey handles the CRM, the invoicing, automations, sales funnels, web pages / landing pages, and advertising/social media that will keep our brand moving while we’re logged off.   It syncs up to almost every payment platform too – we chose Square (for easily Google-able reasons!)

2. The Heavy Hitters (If you aren’t ready to consolidate)

While we’ve moved to Ivorey, I still believe in using the right tool for where you are in your journey.

  • HoneyBook: We used this for a long time and still think it’s a powerhouse. If you specifically need a solid CRM and invoicing tool in one beautiful interface, HoneyBook is fantastic.

  • Flodesk: Ivorey handles our emails now, but if you are looking for a standalone, beautiful sales funnel and email system that makes you look like a pro, Flodesk is still the way to go.

3. The Digital Storefront: Showit

When it comes to our website, we don’t compromise. We use Showit because it gives us the creative freedom to ensure our digital home reflects our “onlyness” without the backend headache. It’s the gold standard for freelancers and creatives for a reason.

4. The Design Vision: Davey & Krista

A great tool is nothing without great design. We trust Davey & Krista for the templates and design strategy that elevate our brand. They understand that a website shouldn’t just be pretty, it should be a strategic asset.

The Bottom Line: Stop paying for a dozen subscriptions that keep you in the toggle and dabble.
